Built in 1998 by Tappe' Associates
www.tappe.com this 30,000 square feet 2 floor library building now
has it all.
The only thing that was not installed at this library at the time
of its construction was wireless. But the main reason was, that no
wireless high-speed complaint standard was available then. In December
2001 Saugus become the 2nd library in Massachusetts to install and
provide the public connectivity to the Internet via wireless.
The walkabout connectivity available at this Library enables users
to use their own laptops and be anywhere while enjoying Internet service
without any wait to access the fixed public terminals. This state
of the art 802.11b wireless network using special antennas provides
11Mbs wireless coverage inside this modern library.
